Merlot grapes were hand-picked when fully ripe at 25.3° Brix; fermented for one week, working softly on the skins to keep the true varietal character while preserving a medium backbone mouthfeel and a long finish; aged 18 months in French Oak barrels; bottled with a natural cork finish.
Intense medium-red color with purple hues. Aromas of hints of chocolate, cloves and dry plums. On the palate, dry, full-bodied. Well-balanced with firm tannins. Nice finish.
Casablanca Valley, Chile – located 20 km from the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by the Coastal Range. This proximity to the ocean produces morning fog almost daily while the Humboldt Current brings cool breezes in the afternoon from the Antarctic, slowing down ripening, allowing the grapes to develop greater flavors and complexity. The soil is sandy clay from granite origin.
